Brayflox's Longstop (Hard) Command Mission - Was it tested by SqE?

Wife went to do some command missions to raise her Grand Company level - been casually playing for only a couple months. A lv60 BLM equipped with all lv60 Allagan gear to match, and all class quests up to date. She settled on Brayflox's Longstop (Hard). All was fine until she hit a snag on last boss, and her squadron being dumb as a brick. A few wipes later, asked me to do it on her char. No go. I too couldn't make it. Thought it could be her squadron not being too buffed, so I attempted with my toon. I have "some" experience in the game, playing for the past years since late ARR/pre HW, all jobs on lvl90 (or lv70 for BLU *sadface*), done almost all the game has to offer, including my feet wet on Dragonsong's Reprise Ultimate.

I could not believe how stupid the squadron is on this particular encounter. No matter how I change their tactics or combinations, they are less useful than paper weights. The tank NPC keeps running like an idiot, chasing the un-targetful boss, while bombs are on the ground - regardless of me spamming the attack command button on a particular bomb. Then the reaction time of the remaining NPCs whenever called to retreat by my location: most of the time, the other DPS is dead during first bombing explosion, with the healer down by the second set.

With me as a tank, it is doable - mostly because I have an easier time to give quick hits into bombs to make one safer (yet run-over prone) corner faster than to blow up one of the bombs as I had to do as a BLM.

Could anyone care to post a video of such run, as a BLM, achieving success? All I found were either 2+ year old videos and the recent ones from healers or tank perspectives.

I recall this dungeon as CM being annoying, but after the dungeon was revamped on recent patches, I have my doubts Square-Enix cared to play it at all.

I have done it as a dps without casting a single ability except "Engage." I had a gladiator, Conjurer, Arcanist, and me leveling monk. I can try to get a video if I figure out how to record.

Okay I beat it on my level 56 monk with level 50 gear. You were referring to the last boss. I don't know if BLM has any AOEs or anything but on monk I used hand of the destroyer to knock the bombs out of the way. I tried "retreat" but what that did is although they went away from the explosions when the tank grabbed the boss again they didn't turn boss around and it killed party members. What I did for that part is I just aoe'd the bombs and never pressed retreat or engage and literally just let them take the hits. After everyone took the hits and came back around my tank was facing a different direction than the party and we beat it. I had wiped at that boss 2 times so I know the pain. I had the most trouble in the dungeon trying to find the keys. I kept getting lost and couldn't find the keys but I eventually found them. It wasn't too bad honestly. Then again it took experimentation to figure out to not press engage or disengage or it would kill everyone. This was my first time doing the dungeon and it was pretty fun and I think the dungeon looked cool. I like the jungle swamp feel and everything. All members were offensive 5 and attributes were 180 phys 100 ment 120 tact. I wish I had a black mage leveled up I would try it out my thaumaturge is only 14 but I know you can do it! Maybe when I have a BLM at level 50 I can try it out. Good luck! You got this!

Luck. I had Marauder, Archer, Conjure. Defensive 2, Offensive 2 and Balanced 4. I used engage then halted my dps til the ads came out I then hit engage on the tethered gobbie then hit it on the other. Using blizzard during the adds. Then I swift cast Blizzard II on the south cluster and spammed scathe to make a big enough hole. I hit disengage when the bombs came out. Only ended up with the archer becoming the floor tank through all of this. Rinse and repeat.

I even came close to wiping due to blowing the timing of the use of non squadron LB on the big bomb. I was having trouble with the UI. I had about 33mins left? I didn't get the 30mins left warning. I'm fairly certain I also used manaward at some point. I play on the PS4 with a controller so. It can be done. Even back during ARR and HW doing this dungeon was hard as a whm since you only need to make a hole big enough for you or to where you only get hit by one or two bombs. If you can't tell I did it as a blm. Course I'm synced down from 90, but yeah a whole heck of luck. Oh and I used engage every time the boss became retargetable.

I am in the same boat with a level 100 Reaper. I can't get past the last boss. Please help?
