Achievement *i make this look good" grand company not working

Steps:
1. I tried to get the achievement by equiping the 4 items in my character then went over to Jonathas at the falls to speak to him. When i did nothing happened except the menu for exchanging achievement points opened. After farming quite a while to scramble the seals to get the 4 pieces of gear i find this somewhat underwhelming :(

Are you wearing the actual required gear, as in, the first level 20 set (the soldier's gear), not the level 50 'officer's gear' which looks identical save for a slight variation in detail?

Also, from what I recall the option to get gear achievements from Jonathas you had to select the option "tell Jonathas a story" or something similar, but I'm not sure if that option is still available, as there was a change where achievement rewards are now automatically granted upon gaining the achievement and don't require you to get it from Jonathas first. But I don't think that included "equip certain gear and then speak to Jonathas" like this achievement.

Either way, have you checked your achievements list in case you may already have gained it? (If you have, it should be listed in the 'last five achievements gained' list that opens by default).
