stand in the plumes
Umm, I could tank ifrit w/o clothes, so its def not gear.
Of course you want to make sure you're using the right abailities, like everythig that has to deal with hate/enimity exclusively. Tanks shouldn't strive for dps.
And when it comes to tactics for tank in ifrit pt, just find a spot and stand there. You really don't move all that much in the fight.
I start fight, directly behind where he spawns and do so for the entire fight. Only time I move is after he jumps and is about to pop....I move out around 7-8 yalms so he doesn't spawn on top of me (on outside edge of arena) and once he pops, just run back and provoke him. same spot, and do this over and over, and yay DM for me.
Good luck!
Btw if you EVER get plumes under you, you're doing it wrong. Tank should NEVER get plumes under them.
should be a bit more mobile than the guy above. you'll have a point behind ifrit where you spend most of your time standing. a little pebbly thing 3 or 4 steps in front of it. stand on that when ifrit jumps so that he lands on top of you then you run back to the previous point. and when possible step to his side and do a brutal swing step back to your spot and finish your godsbane combo.
with a little practice you can make ifrit land sideways on to you after charges making it even easier to combo godsbane. if you move back to your starting position literally fractions of a second before he drops after his charges. other than that it's just a case of standing where you start the fight and on the little pebble thingy and moving between those 2 points as required.
Maybe this link will help lol Spend most of your fight tanking where my dead body is :D
another thing that helps is if you notice my top chat window. no spam in there makes it easy to see and anticipate tp moves. more usefull as a dd admitedly but seeing it on warrior means you can time your combos with them easier. quite annoying when he jumps right in the middle of one lol.
Thanks you guys! :)
