[Suggestion] Next Ultimate raid: Bounties of Gilgamesh

Hey there, I have a suggestion to a new ultimate raid :-)

I'm sure this would fit in very well, and have a lot of replayability.

This ultimate raid would only be available after completing the Hildebrand questline.

You start the raid by asking Gilgamesh about why he hunts for the weapons.

This raid begins by Gilgamesh telling the story of his hunt for the legendary weapons.

You will fight against all the bosses that possess the legendary weapons and Gilgamesh stealing them at the end.

At the end, Gilgamesh would forget to close his space rift, following him you reveal that his base of operations is actually a highly technological spaceship, and that he knows a lot about the worlds, reflections etc.
But going through too many dimensional time rifts has fragmented his mind and made him crazy and given him a very bad memory.

Also, perhaps the ancients created Gilgamesh with the purpose to hoard the greatest weapons in the world, to prevent them from being used for evil, but actually ended up dooming the world (again).

So, the final boss (Gilgamesh) would be him wielding a combination of 8 weapons that may or may not be legendary, depending on the outcome from your previous fights.

All the 8 first fights would have the possibility to give Gilgamesh different weapons, and here I would actually like to introduce a randomness to it, based on his poor memory.

So, the 8 first boss fights that will determine the final weapons of Gilgamesh, will have a chance to give Gilgamesh a RANDOM legendary weapon.

Narritively, for comical sake, it could be presented that Gilgamesh doesn't remember which weapon he got from each boss ;-D

And the fight mechanics would also include tackling environmental/perception issues, like for example, "Hmm, I don't remember those flowers were blue...". And then you would for example have to find red or yellow paint to paint the flowers in the correct color... ;-D

So you would also have to assign someone in your group to take care of scenery.

Or maby he didn't remember there being so many people there, so then maby 4 people needs to hide from plain sight...

Or maby he remembers one dancing on top of that pillar ;-D

All while fighting a boss, like Odin :-D

Each legendary weapon he doesn't get gives him an enrage stack.
If he doesn't get any legendary weapons, he summons Enkidu that wipes the group.

Each legendary weapon gained by Gilgamesh will give him the possibility to cast the weapons ultimate ability.
If given a fake weapon instead, it will do less damage, will be less complicated and easier to dodge.

Ultimate combo attack: perform all 8 legendary weapons' ultimate attacks in a RANDOM order maby symbolized by the weapons start glowing in different order.

At 50% Enkidu joins the mix. Gilgamesh also employs cheap tricks to catch you offguard.

Backdoor skill:
Will travel forward in time to perform random ultimate ability.

I wouldn't say this would have been my pick for an ultimate raid (I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for "The Four Lords"), but I really am impressed by the idea of a Hildibrand story being the core of the idea. Even if I don't see it as likely to get made, I applaud the idea alone. Well done!

Ultimates if kept at 2 per expansion and not 3, are per extension
- 1 8-man raid based first
- 1 story based second

In Stormblood we had UcoB (ARR 8 man) and UwU (ARR story), in Shadowbringers we had TEA (HS 8 man) and the delayed DSR (HS story).
So next Ult is probably Omega based (SB 8 man).

But I like the ideas presented here.

Edit : btw if they keep ultimates this far, I can't wait for Endwalker story based Ult it's gonna be freaking EPIC

Thank you for the feedback. I also had another idea about the four (actually five) lords in Stormblood that I posted on reddit. Called "Lords of Beasts" and inspired by Naraku from Inuyasha, where you first have to defeat the four lords, appearing shortly after eachother. After defeating one, the others will get a buff depending on which lord you defeated. This opens the possibility to do it differently and opens up different clmbinations of the boss fight that may be impossible. The fifth lord absorbs all the four lords at the end and further inherits the extra abilities the defeated lords had when they died. So the combination and powered up abilities based upon the order you defeat the lords, will dictate the final combination of abilities the fifth lord will have.

But I personally liked the Gilgamesh idea so much, that I had to share it here for a chance SE would actually read it 😅

According to patch 6.25 and 6.x will make the Hildebrand quest mandatory for the next relic weapons.

I feel this is brilliant and fits very well story wise as the recurring villian in Hildebrand is Gilgamesh, who has a focus on weapons.

I also feel this would be a brilliant way to build up to a potential Ultimate Gilgamesh in the future :-)

So here's hoping :-)

I doubt we get a gilgamesh ultimate. He could theoretically be in a raid though. I believe they said they have plans to do more dungeons like Baldesion Arsenal and Delubrum Reginae savage, and if they tie it to the relic again, maybe Greg would be involved.

Yoshi P just dropped the news that 7.0 story is finished, and that Krile would play a bigger role.

I think it's safe to assume that they are tying the story from FFIV and FFV together.

From what I understand, Gilgamesh plays a big role in FFV, and there are even the 12 sealed legendary weapons. That I presume were lost and Gilgamesh got the task with retrieving them.

Also, not to mention that they are tying the next relic weapon behind the Hildebrand questline.

So once again, this seems to line up pretty well with my idea of Gilgamesh ulimate, and the background story of Gilgamesh being a creation of the Ancients that was supposed to guard the legendary weapons against evil.
