Adventurer Plate Suggestions

So, it’s been a few weeks and we’ve all had some time to mess around with adventurer plates. And I dunno about you guys, but I have ideas. So, here they are. (I do assume things like more colors and patterns are coming, so I won’t go into that really, but I’d like those too, for the record.)

Please feel free to add your own, too, y’all. :)

Suggestions for Adventurer Plates:

- The ability to save Adventurer Plate layouts so that the player can experiment more freely (especially as more and more options are added), so players can easily switch layouts to compare them, or simply so they can pick one according to their mood that day and easily go back to their old layout after a while.

- The ability to mirror individual elements, in addition to the overall layout.

- The ability to flip elements on their y-axis, and be able to do so independent of whether you have the layout mirrored. For example, maybe I’d like to flip the moogle accent so his pom is to the left instead of the right, but not move him or mirror or flip anything else on the plate.

- The ability to change text color, especially of the server and player name, for better readability.

- Creation of entire layouts themed towards botany, or minerals, or fishing, or the various crafts like alchemy and cooking; all the way from plate frame and backing down to the accent.

Additional accent element ideas:

- Some slight spoilers for 5.0 to 5.3:

- Azem’s Crystal.
- The different Ancients’ masks (Both specific ones like Hades’ and the generic ones).
- The Convocation’s soul crystals(individual or grouped).

- The job stones.
- Class/job symbol art.
- Chibis of in-game characters.
- More chibis of in-game minions, in addition to the current cactuar and moogle.
- Individual flowers (an Azeyma rose, a Nymeian lily, a sunflower, etc).
- A smattering of precious gems.
- A scattering of various, shiny materia.
- A spread of potion bottles and vials.
- Different fish, maybe including a talking wall-mounted bass as a gag.
- A little display of Job gear: like a rod, spear, and fish basket; a hatchet, scythe, and some plants or lumber; a frying pan and some ingredients; etc.
- Faction flags, including beast tribe symbols, the ironworks, and the heraldry of all the city states and nations we’ve met.
- Easily recognized gear like Ardbert’s Bravura, Cid’s goggles, or Estinien’s red helm. Maybe relic weapons.
- The mothercrystal and “father”crystal.

I feel like the adventurer plates should allow you to visually advertise parts of the game, lore, story, and world that you really like, so that’s what I’m trying to gear my suggestions to.

Also, though I absolutely love official art and the art team, I think some community contests for layout designs would not go amiss either.

Oh, also maybe add animated or sound effects. Some of the weapons effects people manage to include are pretty cool.

I would like more reasons to check out people's adventuring plate outside of my morbid curiosity. Can't seem to think of a way without bringing existing content to a screeching halt to go "Look at these plates! LOOK AT THEM!".

Well, according to Quazii on YouTube, Yoshida gave an interview in Japan where he said adventurer plates are going to be integrated into 4 man content, and that’s just for starters. I’m guessing it’s probably that portraits will show up like in CC, cus seeing everyone’s whole plate seems a bit much, but still. They definitely seem to be looking at ways to make them more visible.

As someone who has mine as private, I'd like an option to have my plate invisible on those things such as CC. After seeing a couple YouTube videos rating and judging people's plates, I just lost interest in them. To much anxiety for me to care what others think of my plate and wither or not it meets their standards.

Don't watch FFXIV "content creators". That alone will make the game a lot more tolerable in the long run for ya. They are entertainers who use hyperboles for clickbait, nothing more.
