Yes & No. Full VR support, not really going to be a thing, as you will always need a Controller/Keyboard to play the game, however they probably will have official support for some VR, as you can already use VR to play if you use Illegal Mods. Now if Sony Playstation develops Full VR for the next PlayStation then FFXIV will upgrade to allow for it, while FFXI will no longer be supported on PlayStation (seriously full VR support would finally kill FFXI)

- Speaking of expansions, evidently, new region will be used as springboards for the story.
As it has always been, as it always will be. Hey new game mode, here is a full story as to why we have a mini-game casino. New gathering only zone, here is an RP reason why you are going to grind mining on floaty islands.

-FFXIV finally undergoes an engine upgrade in 2030, stating that the release of PS6 is now the right time to do it.
Yes & No. Even WOW which upgraded it's 2004 engine twice, and had the largest budget of any MMORPG for years, never replaced it's engine, upgrade yes, they do behind the scenes upgrades every patch, the have rebuilt the current engine 3 times in FFXIV, once from release to ARR, and gradually piece by piece over the last 9 years.
quick edit: you think it will take 10 years from PS5 to PS6?
ps 1994
ps1 2000
ps2 2000 (6 years)
ps2slim 2004
ps3 2006 (6 years)
ps3slim 2009
ps3superslim 2012
ps4 2013 (7 years)
ps4slim 2016
ps4pro 2016
ps5 2020 (7 years)
*ps6 2030* (10 years)
Not likely, I see a slim/pro version next year at the latest (due to GPU slowdown from covid and silicon shortage)
And PS6 should release late 2027, maybe 2028 due to the silicon issue.

-Single role playing mode is a mixed success as customers ask themselves should they actually pay msrp prices for a single player experience that makes them think they're still playing on the ps3. (The mixed success is one of the things that make them eventually realize ff14 needs the upgrade).
The game has always been single player friendly, I'm a solo MMO player, there is a large portion of every MMO community that prefers the full immersive feel of a MMORPG while playing it solo. I honestly hate forced Group Play. I raided Hard-core in Early WOW, and never again will I put myself through that stress, I play for the never ending story, I play for the feeling of not being a human on Earth.
