Drk and Gnb in raid
Hi friends. Please be kind as I am seriously just ignorant of what Im about to ask, but can someone help me to understand what a gnb brings to raid that a drk doesn’t? I’ve started playing drk and I’ve found that I seem to be doing more damage than I was as a gnb and I was wondering what gnb brings to the party. That’s all for now! I hope you’re all having a pleasant day when you see this and thank you in advance for your contributions and patience with me ^^;;

No you're right to be confused, as it is very very hard to tell the differences between the four tank jobs, after all the changes they've gone through over the last couple expansions. There are still some differences for now, at least until the dev team is done homogenizing, but the goal is for eventually all four tank jobs will be identical reskins of each other with the only difference being style / favor. Until then ,aye there will be some DPS differences between them, and certain things like their invulns still technically have niche differences. GNB is a version of PLD's "perfect" invuln, meaning you can avoid taking certain debuffs entirely with it, whereas DRK(and WAR) still take damage with their invulns, and therefor still take any debuffs that are coming from hits. Some of their party buffs may technically operate in their own unique ways (again, for now) but they're essentially all achieving the same basic goals. The few abilities trying to stray outside "the box" so to speak, that still exist, basically go unused at this point as many people are taking them off their hotbars entirely.

Overall what Gunbreaker brings to the party that's different from DRK is 2 targeted regens (Aurora), and a targeted 30% mitigation cooldown that comes with a burst heal when health is under 50% or the time runs out (Heart of Corundum). Damage wise, GNB is actually higher damage than DRK in raids, albeit marginally (by less than a percent I believe).
