New Customization

I was playing around with a fantasia on an alt I have and my favorite race is the Au'Ra. Something Id love to see in the future, is the ability to change the color of their scales outside of the preset colors. I know its just another thing but I think it would be nice.

+1 to this actually, even if just slightly more color additions (like different shades of black and white scales or something) anything more than what we have currently. My partner doesn't play au ra despite liking the race because the scale colors; says if conflicts with glam.

I was always salty that the special npc au ra (yugiri, mide) have these nice gradients. It'd be nice to have that as players.

While they stated the plan so far is to do upscales for the character features like textures, etc... I'm holding hopes that they may do some customization improvements in tandem.

To me is so weird that to add the midlander stubble they had to copy paste face 5 with it permanent on... A stubble is a feature that is optional in most mmorpg customizations.

Something I've always found odd is the the fact that only Raen have actual variance in the hue of their scales that's tied to their skin tone and varies from snow white to auburn depending on what you're using.

Xaela scales seem to be stuck as dark blue/black regardless of how pale/dark your skin is.

It'd be nice to have Shiva's figure, too, but I'm not holding my breath. It's probably outside the limits of their clothing framework, and I really don't want to see my hips clipping through my varsity skirt.

That's the root of the issue I think: NPCs can be full-custom, but PCs have to live within the constraints of the character creation and clothing system.

It's a bit artificially limited, though: you can have a buffness slider (roes, hyurs), an ear length slider (elezen, viera), or a tail length slider (auri, miquote), but only one of the three.

The ability to change scale colour would certainly be welcome, and I'd love if there were multiple patterns to choose from, too

Legit I thought I was imagining it but no yeah depending on your Raen character's skintone the scales do change colour as well!

This would be nice and also the changing of the horns...I love a certain face but the horns are way too big and I end up changing back.

They did say they would not be doing the horn changing due to the way the characters are made or something. But not sure how hard it would be to do the scales.

I am hoping the new customisation will allow a lot more than we have. It is getting older and older and very outdated and limited.
