Discussion on FFXIV Suggestions over Chat / more "Instant" means

Does anyone semi-regularly talk about their thoughts for the game while playing, or one any other medium that allows for more instantaneous messaging than a forum post?

Just looking for a group of people to go over some ideas with, but it feels out of place to bring them up on the forum in an incomplete state.

Well, if you have or know of any, it'd be a great help. Thanks in advance.

Edit: to be clear, I'm looking for a place, not just whether or not it occurs. I'm trying to find a group, not just affirm its existence.

I'm looking for a group that can talk about new ideas and implementation, rather than just the shortcomings of the game. They tend to have two mostly separate groups of people, and I'm looking for the other kind. No offense meant, it's just hard to find what I'm looking for on that aspect alone. Regularity is also somewhat important, as regulars tend to have a higher sense of efficiency, foresight, and completion. Though, again, that is just a generalization.

When you post. It is like you are using a form of weaponized pacing and word smithing. I cannot focus on what is confounding me but it hurts to read.

Heh. No, sorry. I just feel like I'm tripping over myself when I try to figure out more about my own idea (to a point which requires feedback from others) in having released it to a forum. It's probably something that would be remedied if I was allowed to delete my old threads and replace them with a new version, but without that feature it feels a little... rude, maybe, to bring up something unfinished just because I can't get any further on it without help.

Well this is a fun post count+ exercise. Why not just state your main idea for open discussion? Or at least the one that you think is the most pressing. Forums are here for people to talk about ideas and opinions. Whats on your mind?

My main point was already given. I'm asking for information on where to find a chat group to discuss ideas more freely, without the pacing set by a forum.

At present, my mind's probably a joggle. I'm thinking through implementation of "collectibles" for FFXIV, leve revamps, combo modifications that would allow for many more combo chains with overlapping abilities (think more "branch" than "string"), and a few others. I have a good deal of detail for each, but no final direction to make the amount of work to be done for them seem rewarding enough and efficient due to multiple uses for most pieces of programming. They're not things I can make threads on yet.

Edit: But, thank you for your advice. I think I'll try breaking them into smaller components and ask for other's opinions on the subjects first. Maybe I'll learn something more that way too, or at least trade out some of the more arbitrary parts for better ones.

to be honest most of my group are always talking about conditions of things and how to improve them in voice chat. it's a fun thing to do while in the middle of just a long grinding spree or whatever you need. the thing i like about the group i chat with is that we can actually listen and have a rational conversation even if we disagree with each other. that's probably my favorite thing the game has to offer at this point in time is the friends you make and the conversations you can have with people. too bad there's not an in game voice channel so you have to do it using a 3rd party program.

Would your group allow any outside members in the discussion? Which program do you use?
