Merchant NPC Interaction in 2.0

Hello all. In keeping with my theme of changing small things in the game (as noted in my previous topic) I have decided to tackle the NPC merchant interactions.

Currently, the system is done like this: target and talk to NPC, a confirmation/option dialog pops up, and then the actual merchant window comes up. The idea I have is to take the confirmation/option dialog pop-up out of the equation so that when you talk to an NPC the merchant window pops up first.

For a standard merchant this can be changed by having tabs in the window to sell/buy items from them. One tab would be the buy tab, and another tab will be the sell tab. This would allow players to go about their merchant business without having to exit the window, go back to the pop-up, and click their desired option.

This particular example I don't see having problem with the gamepad navigation since this same system is used in other menus. NPC merchants involved in quests and be taken care of by having the pop-up option with either the quest option, or the combined buy/sell option.

What are every one else's thoughts on this?

I'm more than sure that this is coming in 2.0. They did say they're completely overhauling the UI and what you just described is almost universally used in modern games, not just MMOs.

I just want to make sure this suggestion is out there so that it can be discussed.
