Spell/Actions Lore
Guessing I should post this here as a suggestion. With Endwalker we’ve received a journal to read the lore of our main cast. I think this should be expanded to job actions/spells we’ve unlocked. It’d be a way to bring back flavor text without it covering the screen in battle.
A lot of stuff we learn isn’t really brought up in our class quests. We just get a “The methods of the past grant you further knowledge” or some such. It’d be great to filter by class and read what, for example, Despair is and where the name came from.
I know abilities used to have some flavor text (like Bio’s “lungs failing” bit) and it’d be great to get that back.

While i'd absolutely love somethign like that, it will never, ever exist.
Reason being that when they continue to gut and water down healers, all of their skill lore entries will need to be rewritten, removed, or just sit there being blatabtly false; like ASTs old beautiful card art and lore, which explained each cards effect and why, and like their old time skills that were wholesale removed, removed card modification abilitues, and their sect ability about 'choosing their fate' between nocturnal and diurnal being a complete lie now--scholar fairies differences and old job design as a shield+debuffee, and so on

It's worth saying that some of these are in the Encyclopedia Eorzea volume 1. They only provide a few descriptions for each job, but it's enough to give you the gist of what the job is doing, we don't need a description of everything.
Naturally, Despair wasn't in there yet. But it's probably not too far away from Flare's description: 'Combining one's own mana with ambient aether, the caster triggers an explosion of monumental force.'
EDIT: I wouldn't be as doomsaying as SpiralMask, but that is broadly true, too; as updates change the functionality of abilities, this would require the lore to be updated too. Consider Tornado Kick's change from a simple oGCD to a payoff of the Blitz system, that obviously means its position in Monk's overall technique set has changed even if its animation and nature as 'kick someone's brains out' hasn't.

I do like BLU partly for how its spell log goes into some detail about how the heck we're able to imitate various abilities and/or how they work in principle.

Prior to ShB, quite a few abilities are elaborated on in the class/job quests. AST cards and MNK's forbiddden chakra quickly come to mind. DRK's TBN got an entire questline devoted to it xD.
Post 70, it is basically stated that our soulstones simply just continue to divulge more and more of their secrets.
