A user friendly change for loot in helping for PLDs main

For both dungeons and raids, isn't better if Sword+Shield become an unique loot instead of 2 separete ones? For example I clear p4s and I find only the sword/shield for the Paladin. I have to wait next week for have a chance to take the missing piece and I want you to remember that Sword and Shield are complementary for the PLD, it's the same weapon. This is a huge gap between PLD and other jobs. So my idea is to make Sword+Shield an unique loot, so me and anyone who's gearing up a PLD can have instantly his weapon done.

I agree. It should be default to have them rollable together. I only got the sword for p4s and no shield.

Well, this is already the case if you get the weapon chest, and the shield + sword are individually discounted if you need to buy them with books (7+3, vs other weapons costing 10). I believe they'd said technically they can't really do that outside of chests and vendors, which is why we have the concessions there.

They could do it easily, by creating a swordshield item that is consumed like a coffer, for every dropable sword and shield in the game, but this would create a lot of redundant items. I'm personally of the opinion that they should just combine swords and shields into a single swordshield item, glamours be damned; or combine them into a single item and then implement a new offhand glamour system that lets PLD MNK NIN RDM DNC glamour their offhand model using a second weapon as glamour.

Or have it set that it only drops the sword and then you take the sword to a vendor and if you have the sword equipped, you get to get the shied for free.
