Crystalline Conflict Clarification

Before I run to the bug forums to whine, I just want to be clear about whether or not this issue is intended or a bug:

I've just had two ranked CC matches, where my team lost well before either:

A. Overtime
B. The enemy team pushed the crystal into our base.

To the best of my knowledge, this has not happened before in either ranked or casual play. In both situations, the enemy team did have the higher percentage, however, in the one instance, we had actually recovered, and we were actually pushing forward. That said, we suffered the defeat when our team left the crystal idle. Again, in neither instance were we in overtime.

I've spent the last 15 minutes going over the CC win conditions, and Google; I see no mention of the game ending randomly before any of the set win conditions are met. To be fair, I'll admit that I'm pretty dumb and lazy, so I might have missed it; ergo I'm looking to see if any other players have encountered this issue or know this is intended (I haven't read any patch notes), before I run to the Devs about what could be a pretty serious issue if it ain't actually supposed to happen.

To my knowledge, there is no win conditions other than percentage, OT or final base.

If you lost prior to either of these, I would mark that down as an issue and report them with screenshots if you have them.

Sidenote: I seem to remember that you can win without OT if the losing team has no control of the Crystal when the match timer ends.

Ah, that might be it. That was definitely the case in the second instance; not positive on the match timer, but we were down percentage wise, and we definitely didn't have control of the crystal when it signaled the defeat. I'll keep an eye out for the future, but for now I'm just going to mark it down as intended.

If there's still time on the clock, the only way to win is pushing the Crystal to goal.
If you have evidence that shows a match ending with time still on the board and no one at 100% progress
you should definitely submit it to the bug report team with whatever details you can remember about the match.

Once the timer hits zero, the match can end immediately if the team that's behind on distance doesn't have at least one person on the Crystal.
