Thoughts on downtime?
Why is there a 30 second wait time at the start of every match? You can't discuss strategy in any detail, and you can't job change like in Frontlines; when you add the intro animations and the 30-second crystal unlock delay, it seems like an awful lot of dead time, especially considering you have 45 seconds to accept the queue in the first place.
All maps allow for a fast starting rollout; I feel like both delays could be reduced to 10 seconds without changing much of anything. Am I dumb?

It's probably to help incase a player has a problem connecting. I had a match where one of the enemy was "unable to obtain combatant data", turns out their WAR didn't load in and it was 4v5..which of course they had to take the hit to.

I think 10-15 seconds is reasonable. It would also be nice if portaits either popped in an out faster or just have both team's show up at the same time. That intro draws on for way too long.

Should be sped up. The 1m30s wait time could easily be reduced to 30-40s

I think the reason for the lockout is for you to plan out your order of attacks and assess the threats on the enemy team. Ironically tho, the wait time is so long I usually just get distracted by my teams glams. lol
10 second reduction seems fair.

They need to also remove the cutscene that plays before the portraits. We don't need to see a birds eye view sweep of the map at the start of every game. The portraits are fine but the transitions showing Astra and Umbra need to also be sped up.

The wait time doesn't bother me because I understand that some people have slower loading times than others. My annoyance is the opening cutscene and the player plates before getting to the gate. Like so much time is wasted for such a short match that its frustrating.

yeah... the cutscene and wait times alone are like 30% the length of a match. they need to get rid of the panning camera on the map that everyone has seen hindreds of times, and the astra/umbra plates thing needs to be at least twice as fast. the waiting time should be at most 20 seconds.

SE put in too much form and not enough function.
They wanted to make it cinematic. But in reality, the wait could be cut down by so much. Remove the opening cut scene, put both team plates sliding in from the sides at once on one screen on top of each other, remove the rez animation, and things will go much faster. Maybe also reduce the dead time at start to 15-20 sec.
