The MSQ defeated me

I made it though part of Shadowbringers. The story is great. But I finally admit defeat to the MSQ. Two hours of cutscenes and dialogue text (only a slight exaggeration) between getting to kill maybe two enemies is just too much.


I think FF14 is great. I love the combat. I love the community. Far better than WoW's community.


But this MSQ...I just can't do it.


So I lay down my sword and give up.


I'll be back one day. But for now, I need something that is paced a bit better between story and actually getting to do something.

We've all been there.

We'll keep your sword safe in the meantime.

Dunno what part Shadowlands is at. I usually finish the msq and moved on xD
Anyways, you dont have to rush through it. Take your time and play it at your own pace :)

That moment when you thought OP was talking about a WoW xpac in FF14 forums in the first half only to realize they meant Shadowbringers lol.

Just buy a skip. It’ll take you up to endwalker. Might not be as hard to progress then.

I am playing so many games these days that I completely missed this. To this day I am still calling Endwalker Shadowbringers..

Surprised that you went for so long without getting invested with the story. Usually thats why I forgive the slow pacing because of the interesting narrative presented. Or at least thats the impression Im getting since you've come this far into Shadowbringers territory. But Its totally ok for you to just quit and come back at a later time. This game's story pacing is the absolute worst if you're not sold into it.

Yeah I usually can do the MSQ a few times through on different characters but EW just sucked in terms of cutscene to playtime ratio. Every single quest felt like it was 30 seconds of running, 10 seconds of fighting and then a 10 minute cutscene. Every once in a while you'll get a solo duty which is the only fun I have had in EW's MSQ.

I simply skip the dialogue.
I still don't fully understand what we did in Stormblood. XD
But I at least promised myself to watch the cutscenes that are voice acted.
