Materia - Multi meld swapping.

With the way Warrior is setup to have generally a different materia meld then the other tanks. I find it strange that I need to completely re-meld if I want to run with my PLD or DRK to play optimally.

So I propose the addition of "Meld Sets". Each Piece of gear can have 2 set's of melds that can be swapped back and forth based on the job you are playing. Just have 2 set's to start out.

Play WAR and PLD? No need to re-meld just swap out your WAR materia for CRIT/DH/SKS. Want to go back to your WAR? Swap your materia for CRIT/DET/TEN.

Essentially since the gear doesn't change, as you CAN'T have more then 2 pieces of BiS gear...so you are forced to remeld. I propose the gear stays the same, but you can have alternative materia for 1 piece of gear. Set #1 CRIT/DH or SKS Set #2 CRIT/DET or TEN.

This way I can change to my WAR and just select Set #2. If I go to PLD Set #1. Sure I have to buy more materia to max meld everything, but it sure beats losing materia for remelds or purchasing more if I can't retrieve my materia.

This can be applied to BRD/MCH/DNC. DRG/RPR. RDM/BLM/SMN. SCH/AST/WHM/SGE. etc.

Food for thought, and would be a welcome QoL for those that omni tank for w/e situation we need. As sometimes my static might need a replacement OT and I kindly switch to help complement the replacement. But remelding is tedious and expensive.

How about no. Spending all the resources to redo the melding programing and allocating extra data to each gearpiece for an extremely tiny difference in numbers. On top of the fact that a big part of people dont even meld.
Remember that we arent comparing melded with unmelded but one meld with another.

Surely it'd be simpler to just ask for inner release to no longer guarantee direct hits or direct crits, removing most of the need for warrior to have strange melds?

Or you could just use the same meld for all the tank jobs. Sure, it won't be optimal for all of them, but the difference between an optimal meld and a not-quite-optimal meld is so small that you will likely never notice the difference.

Just meld determination instead of direct hit. The DPS loss is extremely small for the other 3 tanks.

I don't see why not unless SE just straight up cannot do it for some reason. Would mean no matter what job you play that shares gear you can truly be BiS with the specific substats you want on that job.

the gain is so little that u better off greeding a gcd than remeld

Det is better early in the expansion anyway, just go for Det.

Or they could make DH a DPS only stat so WAR is the only one who can use it through Inner Release. Problem solved.
