People in Praetorium standing in AoEs intentionally?

So with the new and revamped Praetorium, now some bosses have new mechanics, like the magitek colossus having a stream of circular AoEs coming out of it in a cross pattern
or gaius' exaflares circular aoes.
What I noticed in MSQ roulette is people simply standing in those aoes and continuing to dps just to kill the boss faster, without respecting the mechanics
and they don't get punished for it because the aoe deals like 30% of their hp, doesn't apply damage down or vulnerability up, and they just heal it off with a second wind
Is this intended, or good for the health of the game? I think people should be forced to respect the mechanics just like in any other duty with a damage down or a vulnerability up

This is more of a “talk to the party” thing. The game allows for differing play styles, including brute forcing mechanics and having the healer spam heals.

I personally don’t have a preference and don’t know which is technically faster..but if we are essentially talking a potential loss DPS from DPS classes dodging or a loss of DPS from healing classes that are healing. I don’t know which is greater.

Moreover, if I know I’m going to survive and the fights almost over I might not dodge in favor of killing faster because I’ll naturally regenerate on the way to the next fight.

Ultimately, as long as you are clearing the content, it’s fine. This level of content need not be particularly punishing.

If they can heal it off with second wind, I don't really care if they take the hit. I don't mind if people take avoidable damage on accident and will heal as necessary. There's no better way to cheese me off than having a "healer adjust" mentality while they bathe in AoEs, though. So long as they aren't doing it and making it my mess to clean up on purpose, they can do what they please.

Unfortunately, this is possible with most dungeon mechanics. SE doesn't want people to be unable to progress through the MSQ because it's too hard for them, so all of the content involved in it is very easy. There is a mechanic in Grand Cosmos that kills you and it had to get approved because dungeon mechanics are not supposed to kill in one hit apparently.
