question about 1.0 lore

idk if anyone remembers, but in 1.0 the WOL had a companion he could customize, did they ever mention what happened to him/her? o.o

As far as I'm aware they just got put on a bus.

I don't think they're mentioned at all even for legacy players.

they are never mentioned ingame lorewise or any other ways, they most likely died during the seventh umbral calamity

One of the path companions shows up in the waking sands very early on, but gets killed when the Garleans attack. She talks about how she was at the battle and no one remembers her. Thats about all thats mentioned.

The companion you're referring to was a Path Companion, and the last they were heard from was at the end of the last added main scenario quest for 1.0's original storyline called 'Futures' Perfect', where, after Gaius shot them they were stated by Minfilia as seeking treatment at the ALC's Guild in Ul'dah.... and that was the last that was stated about them. As Ryouma mentioned it was assumed they participated in the Battle of Carteneau where they perished, but nothing was ever mentioned.

It's a pity, I miss my Path Companion, but headcanon wise I'm pretty certain she died at Carteneau, so I'm pretty certain they will never be coming back I'm afraid.

They weren't Path Companions, but fellow Walkers of the Path from a 1.0 story quest (the one where you have to save the podlings from Garleans - they arrived at the end of the quest to basically pull rank on the player and their Path Companion and took over the quest objectives.).

But yes they were all killed during ARR when Livia stormed the Waking Sands - I never liked them because of their brusque attitude, but no one deserved that fate. :(
