Patch notes should have spoiler tags

Patch notes already have expansion tags (2.x, 3.x...), there should be a system to show or hide spoilers for anything story related that a new player could get spoiled on.

It can be something as simple as a filter based on expansion and everyone can click what they want to see (browser can even remember it so you only do it once as a "veteran").

This way new players would be able to happily read patch notes without the fear of getting spoiled as well if they want to.
It would be literally an improvement and in no way inconvenience any "veteran".

Generally spoilers don't make it into the patch notes. Anything that's new and spoilery, they tend to hide.

If this is about the new EX that came out this patch, that's a kinda once in an expansion exception since by 6.1 it's technically "old", though I suppose they could have spoilered it too.

Did you know that there's a title called "Survivor of the Song"? Is that a big endwalker spoiler? ...except, the title's from Stormblood.

There's nothing really spoiler-y in patch notes, SE takes care there already. Reading spoilers into stuff like the above only happens if you already have knowledge of the plot already - without context, it's meaningless.

People always told me that as someone that didn't complete all the current story shouldn't read patch notes because they contain spoiler and are always catered to the veterans.

And from the recent ones I've read since 6.0, they seem to contain various minor story spoilers. My suggestion is to have a system where they can be hidden, and if the user chooses to they can show those.

I suppose they could, but since they likely won't, I'd just avoid the patchnotes until you hit endgame if you are concerned. Unless you are going hard in PVP right now and want/need to know any given balance changes, I can't really think of anything in there that will be of much relevance to you. PVE balance doesn't particularly matter until you hit endgame and have your full kit. Housing and fancy cosmetic stuff are likely outside your means at the moment, and most other stuff is either technical stuff or new content you can't access yet.
