need help with Full Steam Ahead

i Found an infamous level 77 Solo Duty i can't seem to clear. Rahnjit's AoEs spawn faster than i can dodge, and i usually die to his unavoidable lightning. want to know if leveling to 80 and getting 80 gear will make the quest easier or not or what other ways i can resolve it without breaking terms of service. my reflexes aren't twitchy enough to control Thancred.

The AoEs that spawn faster than you can dodge are a bait mechanic. When the first AoE spawns on you, know that several more will as well and start running in advance.

If the cones are defeating you, then I suggest using the gap closer Rough Divide. Thancred has Nebula to reduce damage and a heal ability. If there is an orb mechanic where you can attack the orbs, focus one of them to create a safe spot.

I wouldn't expect your gear to affect Thancred's, but I don't know.

I doubt it. Most solo duties are capped at, or just a level or two above the quest level, and even then I don't think gear affects RP duties in the first place.

If AoEs are spawning that fast you're either supposed to keep moving to dodge them all in quick succession, or you missed some other telegraph. Nothing with a marker is completely unavoidable (and you have defensives and heals for the truly unavoidable damage).
