[Suggestion] Let us glamour 1-hand WHM and BLM weapons over the 2-handers

It kind of pains me to see so many 1h weapons that will go to waste because they are essentially useless to glamour. I would love if we could do it with the cudgels, wands, scepters from both these jobs. Not to mention it renders the respective arms from XIII"s collab useless as well (and they're surprisingly still for sale at the Mogstation).

Maybe there's some technical issue wich may explain why we could never do this? But then, it's been so long since ARR, and a lot has changed - maybe there is a workaround for this nowadays.

Yeah... Not gonna lie, when I was still a sprout, once I got a quick understanding of how the cosmetic system worked, I went to the Mogstation to get myself a couple of glamours for general use and since I was a Conjurer, I chose the wand from FF XIII collab in the mogstation because it looked cool enough. I know there's a disclaimer on the purchasing page that the wand can't be glamoured into 2-hand weapons, but the sprout me didn't realize back then that past level 50 there are zero options for 1h weapons for WHM.

Was a cheap purchase, yeah, but still... sucks not to be able to use it up to this day. And sadly WHM and BLM are the only jobs that face this issue.

The only issue I can think of with this maybe the way your character holds the weapon could be weird in certain animations. Sorry if like how the Makai Hand Mortar is for MCH. In certain animations, your character still holds it like it's a rifle even though there's nothing to grab.

Totally agree tho, they either need to redo the weapons as 2h and just get rid of the shields for early levels or make them glammable somehow. They could all lays adjust stats for early gear to compensate for the lack of shield.

I would be sooo happy if they made one-handed weapons + a shield a thing again, or at least a glamour option. I love that aesthetic! :(

But looking at the current animations... The mages hold the staff the same way they hold a wand, and the casting animations are essentially the same, the only difference is the sheathing animation because the wands will go on your waist, while the staves on your back.

Wait, we still can't do that? I just assumed it happened without ceremony a couple of years ago.

I think it's complicated by the fact that they're treated as different types of items in the system and you can only glamour things onto a matching type of item. I assume it controls how the weapons are animated, and if so, then they probably can't merge the two types without losing the waist-sheathing position for wands.

Plus of course it controls whether you can equip a shield, though I'd be happy to lose that bit, especially since they still haven't opened up the Emperor's New Shield for mages to equip.

My preferred theoretical work-around would be to ditch the idea of equipping a shield with your wand (thus removing the complication of different stat types and instead make some higher-level wands with equal stats to the two-handed staffs. Not for every set, but maybe just for the tome sets, and people can choose which model they prefer.

Two-handed canes clips with A LOT of glamours :( This is the reason I stick to solely wand as a WHM in Bozja.

Hilariously, there is a (sort-of) exception at level 80.

In Bozja, your gear has zero relevance to your functional stats; everyone is synced to level 80 with a specific set of stats for their job, with only any Bozjan stats on the gear (e.g. Haste) making a difference. This means it does not matter what you equip in Bozja. (As long as you equip something.)

As a result, a WHM or BLM can happily run around in there using a 50-or-lower one-handed weapon and a shield, and it will work, and have no effect whatsoever on their stats or the potency of their casts. Moreover, because you have the shield equipped, it does enable parry just like at low levels. It's almost entirely useless, because in this game's system you cannot parry while casting, and you will basically always be casting... but you can absolutely equip a one-handed weapon and a shield as a WHM or BLM in Bozja and use it completely viably.

So, if you wanted the one place you can still use that XIII collab glamour at a high level...
