So, is Cover bullshit or what?

Like, I get it that CC doesn't even give a shit about things like caps... But I just saw Ninjas diving into Ovoos and capping it just because there's a guarding Paladin on cover...

This is unacceptable.

The fact that this is just another play that someone can make disgusts me. Just saw a Ninja do that in the middle of 3 alliances just throwing everything they've got at them. They would just... Dive the point, Cover > Guard and the Ninja would just cap it...

I don't even care if there's some sort of obscure counter to this. I'm offended that this is just how this game work. I was having fun with PvP until I found this... But this is the first Frontline I straight up abandoned.

I do feel like Cover needs to be reworked to not prevent interruption from being attacked, though it should probably also reduce the redirected damage so the PLD isn't at risk of getting one-shot by wide AoE LBs.

Or maybe, I dunno, don't allow the Paladin to GUARD the damage coming from Cover. Paladin already can't use Hallowed Ground to protect himself from cover in PvE, why is he allowed to Guard it? 2 entire alliances not being able to break through a Paladin's cover is peak bullshit to me.

Frontline used to be my favorite mode of this game due to sheer chaos and stupidity of some situations, including the tanks that just kept golfing people from rooftops. But this? This is absolutely disgusting...

I almost want to report the people doing it even though I know I shouldn't because they're just playing the game normally. Nothing they are doing is illegal in any way... But they've just fucked the entire match.

Bumping for a possible fix. I doubt this was intended by the dev team. Though, seems like a really easy thing to not miss. It's getting more and more rampant.

Even if they are just using the tools they are given, they are knowingly doing so to gain an unfair advantage. I wouldn't be against them getting some kind of strike for exploiting an oversight like this.

Nah, that's a slippery slope... Doing the best with the tools you're given shouldn't be a punishable offense. Because next step of that train of thought is banning people that are going in and coordinating Bahamut LBs. It sucks being targeted by those but there are ways around them and they're just playing the game they're given. I wouldn't want to ban them any more than I would want to ban someone that can cap a point under the nose of 48 angry people throwing nukes at them.

I think that's an apples to oranges scenario. One is providing an unfair advantage, the other is not. Naturally, I'm not taking advantage of the exploit so any punishment wouldn't come my way.

Can't impact one without impacting CC. And in CC that move is both a blessing in a curse due to how easy it is to die from being clipped by two 12k aoes or a single WHM LB. Cover has a duration of 10s, shield only lasts 5, cover has a 30s cooldown and your LB without deaths takes nearly 2.5 minutes to charge. I agree that it shouldn't be possible for that interaction to happen. Nothing like that should have made it through.
