Movement Physics keep defaulting to "Simple"

I have no idea what triggers this, but at some point, the cool flow of my long dress while playing dancer will just... suddenly stop, and become stiff and awkward. Even my character's pony tail will stop its cute bob from left to right as I run and move with much more limitations on its bounce. It's not absolutely game breaking but it does really bum me out for how small it is.

I found one other thread on the subject that went unanswered, and googling doesn't turn up much else. I also don't know how to word this exactly in the search without getting results talking about optimal graphics settings or something.

Would really like to know how to fix this without having to log out... which doesn't fix it all the time, at which point I'll have to reset the entire game. Preferably a permanent fix.

I don't know if you still have that issue or still require help but I've recently found out that the more fps you have the more stiff the physics will be. For nice and bouncy physics it's best to be at like 60-75 fps
