AoE hate generation issue??

Anyone else noticing that the AoE hate rotation isn't keeping hate well on any of the tank classes? I was doing Lvl90 maps with friends and noticed none of my tanks were pulling hate well enough with the AoE rotations. The only way I could keep hate was using either Shield Lob(PLD), Tomahawk(WAR), Lightning Shot(GNB), or Unmend(DRK) which can be slightly difficult when your friends are spawning all the adds in "The Excitatron 6000" dungeon. I did switch with a friend for them to try it out as well and they had the same issue. So I just wanted to know if anyone else is seeing the same issues. I can't put in a ticket since I didn't get all the information they require to submit one unfortunately...

Haven't run 'em yet since 6.1, without my cone and for the exact reason you're describing, I've 100% lost all interest. Plenty other ways to make gil

Cant say I've been having any problems, but it wouldn't surprise me to learn someone, somewhere, somehow managed to bork a line of code tied to all of the circular AoEs or something.

There are no hate generation issues. Tank stance gives a 10x multiplier, which means someone else has to do 10x as much damage as the tank in order to pull aggro off them. If a tank were doing nothing but their step 1 AoE, no equally geared DD would do 10x that much damage even with single target attacks. A DD might have one specific attack that can do more damage than that, but these are on timers or resource locks and not sustainable, and the next tank AoE would get the mob's attention back.

If someone's having problem maintaining aggro with tank AoEs, there might be a gear problem or a radius problem (teach people who have aggro to run to you instead of away), but not a hate generation problem.

In map dungeons it's likely a timing issue, as a tank you won't be the closest player to the enemy spawns, which can happen randomly, so it'll be easier for DPS to get an aggro lead on you early.
Key is to get in there as quick as you can with your oGCDs, all damage you deal generates aggro better than a DPS, don't just stick to your main combo and your ranged aggro skill.

1: turn on tank stance (often gets turned off when u get synced down to lower ilvl, even at lvl90)

2: make sure u hit stuff with ur aoe

3: $$$

Pulling W2W and some crayon chompin moron hits the Swifty 1 button macro on 1 mob then it might turn red -> orange.
