I recent did the Lord Errant Storyline Quest and only got 5,500 experience even though upon starting it I was told I would get 32,500 experience..
Can I have my extra 30k experience?!

Did you change jobs at all?
I've noticed on a higher level job the xp reward is high. If I switch to a lower level job the reward xp drops.
This exactly if quest is finished on a lower lvl job then xp is pro rated so no self PL by using quests and its too bad.
On the screenshot it seems that the quest was finished as thaumaturge level 16. This might be the reason for the lower experience reward.
This is a lvl 38 quest so if you were not between about 32-42 job when you turned it in you will not get the full XP. Its the same as doing mobs that are way out of your lvl range or doing a wrong level craft, the XP gets gimped.
