BRD Walking/Movement bug

There seems to be a bit of a problem on the BRD movement. At the start of a PVP instance or even being in the Wolves' Den, there is no problem yet. The sprint button brings no problem as the running animation is still normal.

But after usage of skills, there seems to be a problem on the walk animation afterwards. I thought it was a normal that the BRD would do RP as debuff but I saw none that indicate it. After my character BRD gets defeated it still doesn't get normal (walk speed is like the RP walk).

Sure you aren't just talking about cast time on Powerful Shot during which you can walk but not run?

Well hes saying even if he gets killed and respawned hes still RP walking. If that is the case should probably post about it in a bug report section.

I have the exact same problem where I get locked into RP walking if I fire Apex Arrow and then fire Powerful Shot at any time while the Frontline March buff is still on me. My movement is fine before hand with any skill used after Apex Arrow and acquiring the Frontline March buff, but as soon as I fire Powerful Shot with the buff up, I get locked into RP walking. The ways I've found to get out of it are

1. Initiate summoning my mount (I don't have to complete the summoning, just initiate it so that it refreshes my movement speed to normal).
2. Fire Powerful Shot again once the buff time of Frontline March has run out without firing Apex Arrow again, which would refresh the buff, locking me further into RP walking.
3. Dying (not at all the preferred method, but it does work).

These techniques work in Frontline PvP, however, I have not tested anything in Crystal Conflict, as I have not played that mode, yet.

All that said, the walking while casting is clearly a deliberate design by the developers, but the lock into walking speed thereafter does not seem to be, considering what I have to do to get out of it. It seems like it's a problem of movement speed being set lower for the cast but then not being reset back to normal after the cast is done. To compensate for the problem, I have to make sure that I stay far behind the frontline (which, honestly, is where you want to be anyway, as a bard) and be the first to start running if things go south so I can have time to unlock myself from the RP walk.

For reference, I am playing on PS4 Pro. I only know of one other person on PC having this issue, however, he has been able to get around it by using Warden's Paean before using Apex Arrow to block the permanent walking affect. I've tried this, and it does NOT work for me. However, it has been shown to work for him.

I've been getting this too. After switching to another job and teleporting from the wolves den, i'm stuck in slow walk.

Pressing / doesn't work either, as it just makes you go slower.

Yeah the only way to remove the slow walk was getting a mount for me which sadly isn't ideal in the middle off a war zone or when you are not playing Frontline...

It has been months since I have played ffxiv but I know PvP is chaotic and some effects/actions tends to even delay due to particle effects and connection.

I'm having this issue as well. I think the problem is that, for some reason, the game thinks Guard is still up, but it isn't. I'm having this issue in CC, Frontlines, and the Wolves' Den. I'm even completely disengaged from the striking dummy - reset enmity, near aetheryte - and I'm still RP walking. BRD is incredibly frustrating to play in PVP like this.

I tested a little more. Swapped to DNC, and the RP walk lingered! Swapped to RDM, same thing. In the Wolves Den, to get rid of it, I teleported to the aetheryte again.

I took DNC to the dummy, no issues. Swapped to BRD, got the RP walk again, swapped to DNC, RP walk lingered.

Strange as this may sound, I'm honestly glad other people are posting that they are having the problem. I was starting to feel alone and like I was losing my mind, cause a few other bards I had spoken to, in-game, said they were not having this issue. So, it may be an issue that affects some but not others. I do wonder if it's affecting PS4 bards more than bards on other platforms, including PS5.

EDIT: There is an official bug report in the forums on this very issue. I've also reported it, twice, using the in-game reporting menu. Hopefully, SE will look into this and make it a priority to fix, cause it makes bard an exercise in pure frustration to play in PvP.

Not strange at all, I’m right there with you. The fact that I see plenty of other BRDs in FL and there isn’t a big uproar about this issue suggests to me that you are right. I thought that as well - it seems to be just PS players affected so far.

I was getting ready to report it as a bug but they beat me to it, so I added my feedback as well. Hopefully this helps us get some attention. I prefer BRD in PVP and it’s literally unplayable as it is now.
