Dead plants during maintenance

I really don't want to complain about this, but really, my thavnairian onions dying during maintenance? Those aren't cheap to replace and it's not like I had time to save them because they wilt and die if not tended to within 24 hours. :(

Yes it sucks, and makes little sense why the timer doesnt pause while the servers are down.

you must put your garden into storage before maintenance , thats the only solution.

Putting them into storage freezes times for them on growth and need for water as far as I'm aware. The Maint before a major patch is always 24h and announced over a week before.

Sorry for your loss. It's a sad way to learn to put them into storage when there is maintenance coming up.
