Final boss is impossible to beat if someone goes offline
When submitting a bug report, please use the below template and thoroughly fill out the necessary information.
Frequency: Always
World name: Any
Monster name: Endsinger
Class/Level: Level 90
Party or solo: Party
Area and coordinates: Instance (The Final Day)
Steps:
1. Start the instance via the Duty Finder
2. Someone disconnects or otherwise goes offline before the fight starts, and yet the party still has 8 players; the LB gauge can now only go up to 2 bars max. The offline person can’t be voted out to replace them within the first 5 minutes of the instance after it starts.
3. A late boss mechanic involves an attack that will wipe the entire party unless a timed Tank LB3 is done. There’s no way to prevent the wipe without all 8 players being online; shields and a timed Tank LB2 doesn’t work.
This also would be an existing issue for non-story content that requires a Tank LB3 with eight online players, such as Alexander - The Soul of the Creator while playing it synced, or The Seat of Sacrifice while playing it synced.
There should either be a way to vote to kick someone who’s offline within the first 5 minutes of an instance, especially in cases like this reported example where the fight hasn’t even started yet, or you should get to have three LB bars for the fights that require them regardless of whether someone goes offline. Right now, you either need to wait over 5 minutes before any kick can be done, or you attempt to fight the long boss battle anyway and then wipe because it’s literally impossible.
This made someone’s first story experience with the final boss really awkward since the party did nothing wrong, so I hope this avoidable situation doesn’t happen again. Thank you very much for reading my report.
