Chocobo EXP
I've been grinding mobs with my blue mage and up until level 10 on my BL it's been going great. Now that I've hit level ten and fed my chocobo an onion, the EXP seems to be inconsistent. My blue mage is getting more personal EXP at level 40 and much less chocobo exp than my dragoon who is level 70 who is getting one third of the EXP with more of a rested bonus attacking a mob his level and 10 times as much chocobo EXP than my BLM who is attacking at level mobs. I can't explain it.
Anyone know what's gong on?

Blue mage gets a lot more experience from random enemies than other classes do, but that experience rate does not transfer to your chocobo.
I find that chocobo experience is just really slow past rank 10, and majority of it will come from completing your weekly challenge logs of killing 20/100 enemies.

Blue mage gets a MASSIVE exp bonus from killing enemies out in the world. That's part of the job design.
Chocobo exp scales with level just like player exp. Killing level 70 enemies will level your bird faster than killing level 40s, which is why your dragoon is getting more chocobo exp per kill.

Don't forget to put your choco in a stable and feed it curiel root. That will increase its exp gain too, esp if it becomes your choco's favorite food, which happens when you feed it the same food repeatedly in the stable, which then doubles that bonus iirc.
If you have a personal fc or your fc is willing and able, the "man's best friend" company action, will also give your choco bonus exp.

Having your chocobo out while doing treasure maps gives you a lot of XP as well just because of constantly clearing the waves of enemies that appear before the chest is opened. This is mainly because you'll likely run through quite a few maps in a session.
