Controller Help
Hello, I am unable to find any information on this or if it is possible. Is there a way with using an xbox controller to open two menus at the same time without using a mouse and keyboard or placing the inventory and character hotkey on my hotbar? If I go into the menu to get to inventory but reopen it to also open character menu it closes my inventory and vise versa. Is there a way to set up a hotkey or something so I don't take up hotbars with two extra menu commands. I can open multiple windows on keyboard and mouse with hotkeys but controller I can not for the life of me figure out how to just open the windows without closing out of them.
Sort hand : You can hit o, i, and c and open those menus regularly on pc with mouse and keyboard but unsure how to do this on controller without closing out of the window due to the nature of how you access your menus.
Sorry in advanced if this is the wrong place to post this, but it is a technical question, also sorry if I am not explaining this well. >.<

From what I gathered there is no other way than to just bite the bullet and take up hotbar slots just for this purpose in order to open all the windows at once without worry. I was really hoping to save hotbar slots but doubt there is a hotkey for it with the xbox or ps4 controller unless there is but the information on google is hard to find due to possibly my inability to type the proper keywords. Everyone just gives the standard open your menu with start and click on inventory, but if you than go back to start and click on character to get both menus open it closes inventory. It is a technical issue but one I personally think is just ffxiv being ffxiv. So if anyone else is looking for an answer for right now I think their is no way to take up hotbar space but setting the individual items (Inventory, Character, and chocobo saddlebag) in order to have all of the menus opened at once without the start button on your controller just closing the last thing you had opened.

Greetings fellow Eorzean,
Based on the information provided, there is no current method to allow a controller to access multiple active windows in the game at the same time. Due to how the nature of the controller operates with this game, it can only focus on 1 active window at a time and you must close the active window to be able to use another window. Feel free to reply back if you need further assistance.

Aye, thank you for your response! It was driving me nuts for a small amount of time. The only way around it is placing everything on your hotbar than it will just open them all as if you are hitting the hotkeys on pc. I was really hoping to save hotbar space >.< at least I know I am not missing anything and there wasn't a secret button all along that opened these windows. Thank you for closing my curiosity door

you can have multiple windows open at once and switch between them quite freely. just press back or select on your controller and it flips the context between open windows. i do this frequently when swithcing jobs and going thorugh my armory chest to remove stuff I no longer use.
opening multiple windows though yeah thats a bit of a pain. you need to hot bar them all or create keybinds..
but what you can do to save space is put them on a cross hotbar you never use such as 8. and then can press r1 + left dpad to jump to that croos hot bar (even if its disabled) when you want to open menus.
