You can also look through your Gathering Log for the Lore areas you do not have (no gather-able items show for that area), then that tells you the ones you lack, without hitting up the merchant or if you don't have enough tokens.
On my end, unless I needed a specific one first, I just went down the list as I got enough tokens, and if I forgot where I left off, I just clicked through them until I got the purchase dialog. -

If there isn't one, I'll second the need to set up a way, as well as a way to know exactly which "Master" recipe books you don't have to purchase a second time by mistake because you can't remember if you bought them before.

Ah, leading the way Kirika... the Gathering Log! Thought I had done more, but it seems I only did Botany for Elpis... turns out the item I need is listed as being gatherable from there! I wonder if any specific item can be gathered in any of the 3 areas??? Otherwise I best be scrounging up a ton of white scrips!

Indeed it was Potent Spice I was looking for… on a mission to get mats to make Thavnarian Chia! Just bummed because I can make collectibles for the craftsman scrips with a much larger return than doing the gathering one… where I have to deal with timed nodes. Except for once a week with custom deliveries!

So how does this happen? I spent 1600 white scrips to buy the BTN tome for sea of stars... see chat dialog. BUT nothing got added to my Gathering Log... how can this be?

As in, Botany is Logging and Harvesting (using axe or scythe) and Mining is Mining and Quarrying (using pick axe or sledge hammer) and each of the four have different types of nodes.
As this expansion is expanded, as in more EW content added via patches, more items will start showing up in the Folklore gathering sections.
As you have already bought the book, when they add the new items and nodes, they will then populate in your Gathering log automatically.
