Problems/Solutions/Input Regarding FF14

I've been playing this game for months and months. I've done all endgame content. I've got all jobs to 50. And quite honestly I'm losing a lot of hope for this game. It seems ff14 went from a subpar mmo, to a pretty good mmo, to a luckonry grindfest lackluster mmo. Here's some suggestions I have for trying to fix things:

1: All primals should drop totems 100 percent of the time.

2: Take away all Garuda weaps obtained from exploiting -OR- Make the garuda weaps you can obtain now noticeably better than the old ones

3: Put a lock/system up for the market to hinder RMTs/undercutters. Not being able to log off for one night with farmed items on the market is rediculous.

4: Put in-game GMs at coerthas and other botting/mining spots. Coerthas is just plain rediculous, i've filed countless reports with names of botters etc, nothing is ever done. I get the same auto-message as well. That is poor/terrible service SE.

5: Create a loot system. This should have been done as soon as any endgame content came out. Again, poor service.

6: Find a middle ground for droprates on endgame content such as AV/CC. The droprates are so abysmally low there its maddening. One option is make it 4 runs every 6 hours and raise the droprate on darklight gear by 15 percent. So you could technically run it 16 times every day, with a ~1/4 chance per chest for DL. Then make DL gear meldable or convertible with god materia from it. Extended content right there. Or could be traded in for massive amounts of seals for new AF weapons gc item. More than enough much better options than the one we're putting up with now.

7: Have continuous player poll's on CURRENT game issues/ideas. If we're just being fed crap until 2.0 to keep us happy/subscribed, then make a poll to get the majority's opinion on an issue, then DO IT. Many players feel like they are being ignored, problems overlooked. Because they are. Again, terrible service.

8: Make leves worthwhile again. I have a pretty much constant stack of 99 leves. Make them give some kind of reward system/more gil/rare loot/ something. This was a huge aspect of the game, even models of leve cards were sold, highly promoted, and its basically a dead system. Please revise it.

9: Penalize parties for stacking jobs. I join new player linkshells fairly often to help out new players, and a lot of them raise a job to 50, love it, then are devastated when they can't get into a party for endgame content/primals. Another big aspect of this game was that casuals could play it as well as hardcore players. Not seeing that at all. (With garuda as well.)


I'm not writing this to bash this game to pieces. I'm here to throw my 2 cents into the wishing well, and to ask all of you to do the same. Please add anything you think could be done to solve the many issues we currently have. And don't bother with "Go to another thread that's already up, etc". Because I don't care. So many threads are up about so many different problems because that's the case. There's so many different problems. Positive criticism for SE/Intelligent input please.

Summary:

Wait for 2.0

I undercut whenever i want.. who are you to tell me that i can't.
Totem drop should be raised yes
More Gm's is good .. if.... they do something against botting.
What kind of loot system ? you get it straight into your inventory , its good enough for me.
I play whatever i feel most comfy with in parties.. usely war or whm , theres no use for other jobs for me because i hate the other jobs , but we should have a choice to play whatever you wish to play in parties, so that means whether you stack or not.. any party should be able to do the job , no matter the class.

Just a few things on this:
(1) If they made totem drop rates 100% they would have to increase the amount of totems per weapon alot, or it would take 1 week (one month most) to get 7/7 with the re-entery. People would complain.

(2) This was a overlook on SE's end, using all BLMs while it can be seen as exploiting is how everything is done, alot of parties have WAR, WHM, BLMs, BRD on Chimeria, is that an exploit because it stops you getting hit?

(3) I don't quite understand this, please explain.

(4) I can mine from 2pm to 2am, stopping only for 1hr for food, does that mean I should be banned for being a bot?

(5) We have a loot system in that drops go to a player's loot list to distribute freely, but I admit it is very poor and needs improving alot.

(6) People would get bored of doing dungeons just for materia, also darklight would be very overpowered with materia, and you seriously think that drop rates are bad in this game, in FFXI Dynamis Xarcabard, you would get people waiting over 1 year for the drop they wanted, (happened to me for DRG AF2 helm) relic weapons would take 2 years of not missing one Dynamis run to get a drop.

And even out of FF, White Knight Chronicles 2, an item called Flemron 108, I was farming that for 2 weeks solid (breaking for food and sleep only, about 12hrs a day) and didn't get one drop, and this is from a mob you run up to and kill, no waiting around (well reloading the game from its shared pop with another mob)

(7) I don't feel ignored, yes I would like faster results, but we are always seeing how XXX suggestion will be implemented in xxx patch, and you must have no idea how long it takes to write, even small things, and debug them in a large MMO.

(8) Leves were designed for leveling and that alone, which they are very good for, use them on your DoL/H if you have all DoW/M 50, or do GC leves for seals.

(9) I completly agree with you I would fully nerf anyone who class stacks if it was up to me.

Botting/gil selling isn't what's bringing XIV down. It's probably low on their priority list, but something they're keeping an eye on for when 2.0 hits. Still, doubtful they'll have GMs just idle around there, come on.

I don't think raising the timer on a run is the answer, really- but some sense of progression in any way oft helps sugar the pill.

Already happening. The thing is, there's time between when the devs get all of the responses, and when we notice that they did something about it. It'll take time to analyze what players said, think about what they can do about it with their strategy going forward, and then implement it. You're not getting weekly polls.

Dead in what way? They've never been better for DoH/DoL jobs, and sure the gil rewards were nerfed hard since launch, but you can still get various items- I look forward to the La Noscean Toast I can get from leves while solo-levelling my 40 jobs for when nobody's around in the LS (or I'm being anti-social, shh).

First of all, penalizing for stacking jobs is stupid because it stifles any sense of creativity. I don't even know what you would consider stacking: is 3 of a job too much? I play in an LS that has three people who love Dragoon and bring it all the time. Would never tell them to bring something else because we'd be penalized for it. Second, any 'new player linkshells' that already have entrenched "you must only play this" rules is something of a lost cause, unless you're talking about those same new players going out and joining PUGs, which is silly because you have a linkshell of people who are new and want to play what they want so group up and do it already.

1. Sure. Just make the cost in balance with the rarity of the weapon.
2. No. The exploit was on SE for not doing a good job of testing and analyzing the fight. Don't punish the players for their fowl up.
3. No. This is simple economics. You have to keep in mind that people might undercut you when selling and predict how far they're willing to drop considering supply and demand.
4. GM services seriously need to be re-examined.
5. I'm honestly fine with what we have now, but as long as such a change won't make things worse for me in any way, I'd be fine with it.
6. I say keep the drop rates low and implement a system like the totems with proper balance.
7. Totally agreed.
8. Eh. I'm fine with them being pushed under the rug. Repeatable kill X quests in the same location over and over was a horrible idea for the main feature of an MMO. As a side thing for quick experience, sure, why not.
