New to Tanking with DRk please change TBN

First I must open up with this is my first time posting in the forums,
I love DRk, I like the fantasy, I like how it looks but! TBN feels bad don't get me wrong, the tool tip in theory it's great but man I find myself using it and wasting mana because the bubble doesn't pop, it is my humble opinion that this needs to be addressed and I'm sure other more experienced DRk players could go in to more details in other aspects of its tool kit but... TBN right now to me feels like I'm throwing a dice and I just keep getting one's against big pulls and/or bosses.

Learn to time it better? You have other mitigation tools, not everything has to be a TBN.

TBN is a powerful mitigation tool, you just need to learn when and how to best utilize it.

DRK has a bit more complexity to its defensive abilities and capabilities but once you get the hang of the kit, it is very capable and can be quite fun.
The fact that I have to put a modicum of thought into using TBN and DRKs' other defensive abilities and how they work together makes DRK have the most enjoyable defensive game-play of all the tanks for me, whereas the other tanks are just so incredibly straight-forward and easy that it feels like they are on defensive training wheels and ultimately boring in that aspect of game-play.

I would recommend maybe trying out other tanks to see if their game-play style is more to your liking if after giving it some time, DRK just doesn't click for you.

As others have said, it's situational, which takes a bit of game knowledge to get the hang of.

Use on CD during trash pulls, such as wall to wall pulls, but even just a single group should pop it pretty easily until you have maybe 2 left, depends.

And then it should pretty much be left to combat tank busters and save healers/dps from mechanics which would otherwise kill them.

It's also wise to pair it with a damage reduction mitigation too where possible.

There are a few exceptions (hydaelyn Ex add phase comes to mind) where it should be used on CD that doesn't involve trash pulls/tank busters/saving people, but again that's just game knowledge you'll develop.

The goal is, as you know, to get it to pop. So use it just before/during sustaining massive damage.

I think it needs to change as well but your problem is more focused on timing rather than the the flaws of TBN. Keep in mind as well that TBNs usage changes too… You just have to feel it out depending on gear, food, healer abilities like protraction, other mitigations, content/content difficulty, etc, you may be able to use it on autos or may be able to use it by itself just on tank busters.
