I thought one of the selling points of sage was that it could Augment its abilities..

Short and simple.
if im not mistaken one of the main selling points in sage during before its release is that it was able to augment its abilities, and i see that we get this in the form of Eukraisa...but there in lies, and LIES the problem.

Eukraisa can "augment" 3 abilities.
your single target heal, turning it into a shield
your aoe heal, turning it into a shield
and your single target dps, turning it into a dot.

whats the problem you ask?

THESE ARE NOT "AUGMENTS!" its not unique , and most healers can do this stuff already, in fact if you were to eliminate eukraisa, and just make the eukrasian augmented abilities their own spells, you would literally not even realize they were (supposed) to be augmented abilities.

yeah i agree eukrasia is a whole lot of wasted potential. it does not even interact with all of pur gcds (no dyskrasia, phlegma, pneuma，or toxicon).

there is also no decision making involved for its "augments" at all either. You just use your dot every 30s like any other dot. The shields are always superior to the base heals and those are barely touched to begin with because we have like 10 other better & free healing abilities that do the job. Even if you wanted the pure heal over the shield, pepsis is still more potency.

all eukrasia does is save hotbar space. everyone expected something like dark arts but instead we got an extra step on our dot.

I pointed this out back in October, gonna repeat the idea I had back then. Eukrasia could be a spender for Addersting stacks and would change or buff another ability. For example they could make Toxicon the equivalent of Ruin II but when it's buffed with Eukrasia it does more damage than Dosis. Or it could give Phlegma an AoE heal. Or it could give Druochole an extra shield. I'm spitballing ideas which may or may not actually be good but ignoring the details of how and what it augments, I think generally it would be a more interesting system. That's also all assuming the Eukrasian augmented abilities are separated onto their own hotbar spaces so that you could actually generate still Addersting (also Addersting generation could be improved but that's another topic).

It has a button, that upgrades other skills.

Sage still has the best system for consolidating all of it's GCD skills to just four buttons, and has the GCD skills most worth using, and has a set of GCD abilities that feel different to use compared to other healers. Which makes it not feel like a cookie cutter WHM clone, and is a win in my book.

Could Eukrasia have gone a little further? Sure.
It would be cool if it could be used to upgrade Eukrasian Toxikon, which would increase it's damage but make it a 1.5s cast with no recast, effectively spending your weave window on extra damage.

I'm not sure what else it could do though.

Most gcds worth using?

Honestly I've never used eukrasia prognosis beyond testing pepsi burst (which was terrible) and regular diagnosis I touched only when it was my sole healing option in sastacha level roulette and the tank stood in an aoe due to lag spike

its regular prognosis I think i used once in a blue moon, and eukrasia diagnosis is only worth it during down time or prepull. otherwise its worthless. Sage has so many cds the gcds are redundant like the other healers, not to mention they are super weak.

pneuma+zoe is good though. But zoe is pretty much useless if its not on pneuma, so might as well get a different buff and have pneuma with the extra potency heal baked in

Given the gaps in shield healer kits to begin with, having access to everything that made Noct AST ‘okay’ (ie. instant cast shields, an AoE burst heal in Pneuma, and a Medica equivalent) on top of what makes SCH good as well as better cooldowns (apart from range), and a few fiddle DPS buttons on top of that? I’d say yeah, they’re fine. They have a solid GCD kit in the context of XIV’s boring paradigm.

It doesn't seem off the table that SGE would get Eukrasian augments for other skills in the future, like a cooldown effect on Phlegma, or possibly an AoE DoT on Dyskrasia.

The advantage of Eukrasia's design is it gives the option for twice as many skills for the cost of only one button on the bar.

Pretty much. I think its main advantage is consolidating more functionality into less space.

I think it'd be cooler if they did take it further with more abilities, but ultimately it'd still function as it does now, like Dark Arts did for DRK.

For it to properly feel like augmentation I think we'd be entering FFXI SCH's territory with stratagems, which I think would be cool but they would add button bloat and I would think would be difficult to implement in FFXIV where button bloat can be an issue.

But at least with SGE you get a couple of other abilities that sort of fulfill it, Zoe enhances healing and Pepsis detonates GCD shields.

Though I do have things I'd complain about, Eukrasia is a mechanic I think is fine...if anything my disappointment is that I don't get to use them more because oGCD's always take priority over GCD's and the one mechanic SGE has that could correct it is a DPS loss most of the time.

Perhaps I am doing wrong but.. I don't use Eukraisa outside dot (unless boss not target-able anymore).. Using it for shield feels like DPS loss with minor gain even if it provides DPS mobility on shield break (Pepsis or Zoe combination not worth it).

IMO it only worth using if every other OGCD in cool down and you need shield for pepsis combination (or you run out of addersgall stacks).. but if it is happening it means team performing horribly.. or something wrong.
TBH if they remove Eukraisa it wont change anything on my game play :3 I will have extra button to press for dot.
