@SE, Can we have instanced cities, or housing please? City congestion is a problem!

I'm sure there's a better place to post this, but my smooth brain couldn't find it.

Can we please have instances added on ravana for the main cities, or the housing districts open. I feel something needs to be done to alleviate the burden on the main city areas (Particularly Limsa, Gridania and Ul'dah, I haven't had too much trouble in Foundation or Sharlayan).

I know that it's early days, but without housing available, everybody is homeless, and thus AFKs, or spends their time between gaming activities in these main city states, and it's quite frequent that you will be met with "Destination Congested" when trying to visit/return to them.

This also impacts new players from progressing their MSQs as they are for example unable to take the elevator out of the Drowning Wench. At the first time they encounter this issue, they aren't even able to see other characters yet. That does not leave a good first impression.

I believe, that this problem won't get better, until housing becomes available, and a sizeable number of players relocate to their/fc houses to idle, craft, and socialise with FC friends alike.

So if bringing forward the opening of housing is out of the question, a reasonable compromise would be to have instanced cities. Please consider, and thank-you.

Agree with this. Friends who already transferred here mentioned how these main cities, especially Limsa, is so congested especially during peak hours.

I hate to be that person but housing has nothing to do with the congestion problem in main cities. I promise if everyone and their mama had a house they would still afk in a city.

I have a house on Crystal and I have not afked in a city since I got it, really. I am usually by my house marketboard or inside my house.

I disagree my FC would normally chill at our house between activities and currently we feel a little lost without it and I know many others are feeling the same.

Same. When our FC got a house we mostly hang out there since we have everything there like storage, barber, practice dummy and our own rooms and bathrooms :) I only port back to gridania for glam dresser lol

We only go to starting cities to hand in GC items and glam (so wish they would add them to houses!). Currently because we are trying to lvl our FC we are spending a lot more time in the starting cities.

Nah, On my NA server I am mostly in my house or garden when I am not doing dungeons and stuff. I am nicely set up there with retainer bell, marketboard outside, merchants, repair... everything really.

Only time I need to head into town is to sell my green junk, or buy cabbages for my choco.

When I get my OCE house, I will do the same. No desire to sit in town.

13 days on and it does appear this issue has solved itself. I’ve been in Limsa a lot and even on my old Vega machine no lag at all.
