As a consumer, you have only consumer-level options.
Clearly SE is aware of the audio issues. So adding one more complaint and some threats to the dumpster fire really isn't productive. They're aware of the issues, and they'll fix them when it's appropriate to do so. I know it's fashionable to suggest that multi-million-dollar companies that are hugely successful in their area of business are inept and incompetent and ignorant and don't care about their players, but honestly, that's a bunch of #socialmedia garbage and isn't at all true.
No doubt other issues still take priority over the audio issue, even though one might think "everyone else" is up in arms about the problem. You, yourself may not be able to play FF14 without sound, but other people play fine without sound, some people never even turn the game sound on.
Does that make your frustration with the audio any less valid? No, not at all. However, bugs that prevent logins, bugs that disconnect people, bugs that prevent story progress, bugs that cause people to be stalled with no way forward -- those bugs will always take priority over an audio issue.
So, again, your available choices as a consumer are:
- Cancel your sub until the audio is fixed, then re-subscribe; or
- Cancel your sub permanently to drive home the point of how unagreeable the audio bugs are; or
- Continue to play and ignore the audio bugs, with game sounds on; or
- Continue to play and ignore the audio bugs, with game sounds off.
- And last, unfortunately, you do have the option to just keep complaining and adding more negativity to the world. That gets you nowhere, and it ain't good for society, but you can do it if you so choose.
Those are literally your only options. Choose one, and I wish you good luck going forward.
