Is there a way to stop NPC vendors from hiding other UI windows?

Case in point:

I open the RAW MATERIALS LIST window and LOCK it. Then I go to the Total Trade vendor to look for tomestone materials needed by the item. I talk to the vendor and the game hides every window except the vendor window.

Argh. There are two items with similar names. Now I have to back out of the vendor window to check which one I need. Then go back and click through the layers of drop-down menus to find it again.

FFXIV UI is full of these little obstacles that nudge you a little here and then slap you lightly there, and eventually you get that last straw on your back and go on the forum to complain.

So. Is there a way to stop NPCs from hiding all my UI windows? I don't need "immersion" when I'm buying items from vendors.
