Potential Interesting moral conundrum with Garlemald

Suppose a former province marches on Garlemald to conquer them as retribution for having been conquered and enslaved themselves.

Would the Scions/Eorzeans help defend them?

Would they actively fight and kill to defend Garlemald from their former victims?

In real life, they probably wouldn't.

In game, they probably would.

Eorzea is going through a real kumbaya phase at the moment :p

As of the end of Endwalker...

Garlemald is already under the control of a foreign military: The Ilsabard Contingent, many of which are citizens of former provinces. Post-patch content will probably involve the Ilsabard Contingent and possibly transferring power to the Garleans. But right now, if any foreign force attempts to invade Garlemald they'd be faced with the Eorzean military and not the Garlean one so it would probably end up in talks rather than military conflict. All-in-all, it reminds me of Occupation Era Japan when the US military was in full control of the country for a few years.

Yeah pretty much this. The Twins will tell WoL and the EA about the looming threat of invasion and when diplomatic talks with the government fails the WoL and his Scions will sneak in only to find out the head(s) of the government is corrupt and probably using dangerous Allagan tech
