I know that some items offer a nice bonus like the Astrolube getting +10 M.Acc but is there any possible chance that we can get the added bonus of allowing jobs to equip the new gear if it is HQ'd?
This would add some really nice flavor and variety to jobs instead of seeing the same double/triple melded felt hats, etc.. Especially considering that gathering all the HQ mats for the Astrolube and/or Vanya is going to take a minimum of 5 hours. If you really do the math you are probably looking at 24 hours of total gather for the Vanya hat, body, and the Astroglide. From a timesink perspective the reward of HQ'ing for items you won't use much seems kinda bleh.

Sadly they already stated class gear will be added (this being some of them) "For the times you would rather use Classes over Job in certain situations"...so we will not see these usable by jobs ever. I guess it's for the people that cried about jobs taking over or something.
There will be new gear as the time goes on, this happens in every MMO with a set amount of gear at one point (You see gold gear -everywhere- on Tera currently)..and look at FFXI, the only iuniversal set of gear for the longest were Hauby, Scorpion Harness, Kitity Haidates and Sea gear while the small percentage of people had Salvage, Nyzul or +1 AF/Relic gear, then came Abyssea which the common set of gear is the Empyrean+2 set. We see felt hats and felt berets everywhere because of melding, much like we see full AF everywhere for those who don't want to switch gear or use better choices.

The Vanya gear by design is quite obviously made for CNJ and/or THM, and the Astrolabe is a powerful weapon if not limited in some way considering it can also be melded. Overall they emphasize the idea that classes are meant to be jacks of all trades so to speak, and thus may require powerful gear with lots of flexibility in stats, which these high-difficulty gear provides. The way to balance that is make them unavailable to jobs, which can use pretty much everything else. -
