DPS, how do you do it?
Ever since I've started playing exclusively healers and tanks (I'm a healer and tank kind of guy, I like healing and I like tanking even outside of MMOs) I've become drunk on the 30 second queue times.
Yet, when I decided it's time to start levelling RDM or BRD again, I was hit with a 17 minute queue and all my attention span went soaring out the window.
People who play DPS, how do you do it? How do you do the queue every time?

I've become very well acquainted with people in New Gridania, socializing makes time go by quicker (atleast in my case) so when I have a que that has an average time of 10-15 minutes, it's over before I know it. It's so easy to get lost in conversation that I sometimes forget I even qued up which has happened a few times.
-
Do something else that doesn't require a queue in the meantime like fates.
-
Que with a friend willing to go tank/healer (I'm that friend) or just deal with ques by doing other stuff (gathering/crafting for example).
-
Gather, craft, socialize (unless you're me lol), or play another game while waiting.
-
Work on other things while waiting in queue.
If you haven't maxed out beast tribes yet, do your dailies while in queue.
If you haven't done your weekly things(Doman Enclave, Custom Deliveries, some challenge log stuff, etc) do those.
Work on glamour.
Chat with friends.
Gather materials for crafts you plan on doing
Try not to go crazy.
Play a game on your phone/other screen.
Get some quick to make/grab food/drink

I use the time to clean my inventory. Or check my supply of food or re glam something. I rearrange my apartment, pet my dog or cat, get a drink or snack. Of the queue goes over 20 mins I usually withdrawal and do something else and come back later.

• Grab FCmate and/or friends to que together. The more, the merrier and more likely your que will pop faster. Bonus point if they’re playing tank/healer.
• Soloplay? You have FATEs, gathering, crafting, limsa’ing (lol)… I mean, socializing,
• Tab out to another window or do whatever irl while waiting. I put game sound at max to ensure I can hear the pop.

When I was getting my DDs up I would watch YouTube or study. I actually began to not mind the queues but by then it was too late, I had to move back on to leveling PLD.

Become familiar with the wider range of activities that the game has to offer you.
Be it FATEs, crafting, gathering, gold saucer, or just general socialising with friends or random folk. It's an MMO after all.
Aside from this, you can also do content which isn't dependent on roles. e.g. Deep Dungeon/Bozja
