I randomly lost all sound every now and then back before Endwalker.
Nah it has existed and been known for a loooong while before EW, and it should've been fixed long ago.
Happens to me in Praetorium every day I get it in the msq roulette. I loose all sound or fades by 90%
I started having sound cutting out randomly when I resubbed just before EndWalker. And that was the first time since 2013, playing on and off without ever having that problem.
It turned out that it was iTunes for Windows causing it. I switched from Spotify to Apple Music last year so I started using iTunes for Windows. Then I resubbed for EndWalker, and experienced sound cut-outs. At the same time, I found that iTunes was pure garbage, so I stopped using it and started using YouTube Music on Windows. And once I did that, I never had sound cut out again.
So maybe try closing other programs that might be running that uses the sound device?
I actually didn't have this problem at all until like 2 nights ago and it randomly went out in Praetorium. I have a very new mother board / audio chipset too. Its some old realtek on an AMD board that some other people were faulting. I was so confused, messing with windows settings and audio settings and my headphones, then I remembered this problem on the forums. I just exited the game logged back in and the problem was fixed.
Did not have the spatial audio stuff until tonight, decided to try it. Side note, I can't hear any difference at all.

Greetings,
Thanks again to everyone who submitted detailed information regarding the ongoing sound-related issue. Rest assured, the bug reports that were moved to the Duplicate Bug section have been also passed down and have been helpful in our investigation.
While it has taken some time to narrow down the conditions of the issue, we were able to reproduce it on our end.
We discovered an anomaly in the calculation process within FFXIV's game sound driver where the number of digits is not being adjusted correctly. Due to this, some CPUs with certain characteristics are unable to keep up with the calculation processes and have a high possibility of encountering the issue.
As mentioned previously, we noticed this primarily occurs on older CPU models that are around 10 years old, but have also confirmed cases on some of the latest CPU models.
We are continuing to investigate the matter and are working on a resolution to ensure that CPUs with these characteristics will be able to handle these processes correctly. Our current plans are to conduct pattern tests and release an additional fix in the next patch.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work towards resolving this issue.
Its silly to say, but have you updated your graphics drivers?
Ever since I updated mine the audio stutter and cut out has stopped.
