Dumb Question About Shields

I might have missed this- but I was wondering:

Do the amount that healing shields absorb take into account all mitigation before assigning damage?

Easy Example:

If a boss does 100 damage move
Tank has 10 percent mitigation (passive)

Does the shield absorb 100 or 90?

I wouldn't imagine that it would absorb 100.... but thought I would ask.

Shields are just static additional health and damage reductions are taken into account before anything reduces that health. So for your example the shield will absorb 90, because that's the damage dealt.

Thanks for clarifying! I was hoping this was the case, but I just didn't know.
