High Void Mage Cessair [Pandaemonium Spoilers]

Sorry if this was already posted, but I just noticed Cait Sith hanging out in Elpis next to this lady.

Had to refresh myself on Cait Sith's lore when I saw him, and read that he was a familiar of a Voidmage named Cessair during the War of the Magi. Being that Elpis makes a lot of references to the concept of familiars, I can't help but wonder if the lady next to Cait Sith could be the unsundered form of Cessair herself.

Kind of interesting detail to include in the zone if so. Unfortunately neither the woman nor Cait Sith have any dialogue to support the idea. Though I'm kind of wondering with the Pandaemonium raid being tied to Elpis, if this isn't some kind of hint as to future plot developments in the raid.

I personally have a theory that the 4th raid boss might be tied to Diabolos in some way given the bat motif, and the aesthetic similarities of the raid to Dun Scaith. Cait Sith describes Diabolos in the Mhach series dialogue as a "voidsent taking the form of a bat". Perhaps Hesperos may be the unsundered form of the man who would become the voidsent Diabolos ?

To tie it all back to Cessair, it was she who was tasked with summoning Diabolos during the War of the Magi, and after refusing to cooperate, was imprisoned. She eventually was forced to sacrifice herself to seal Scathach and the other voidsent on the Void Ark, leaving Cait Sith as its warden.

Given that Diabolos has ties all the way back to the Allagan Empire, due to Xande's pact and the creation of the Diablo Armament, I think the raid acting as his origin story makes a lot of sense and could also have implications for future storylines with the 13th etc.

Anyway this was a bit rambling but just throwing out some thoughts and wonder if you guys think this could be Cessair. :)

Weird. It sort of makes sense that Cait Sith could be the concept of a familiar given his incredible complexity and obvious differentiation from Mhachi Voidsent summons, but how the hell would a Mhachi mage get their hands on an Amaurotine concept and then create it? The obvious pin would be the Ascians, but Cessair hardly seemed to be following their MO.

Something very very interesting I just wanted to point out - in searching for more information on Cessair, I came across this picture of her from the Encyclopaedia Eorzea (sourced from this reddit thread)

It's hard to tell hair color in that picture, but - look at the hair styles. They are very similar, if not the exact same. That plus Cait Sith seems far too intentional

Here's a better shot, indeed her hairstyle and color appear to be exactly the same. Also if Cait Sith's origin is to be believed (which I assume comes from the cat himself) it doesn't seem to line up.

It certainly raises some interesting questions. Maybe the cat she found was a sundered version of the original familiar, not necessarily the original concept itself? And the sundered Cessair either truly was so powerful a mage that she was able to transform him into her familiar, or whatever magic she did to do so awakened the potential in Cait Sith that he would have already held?

They have the same exact hair style and color according to her EE portrait so yes it's definitely Cessair unsundered. Nice catch!

My entirely baseless headcanon until proven otherwise is Emet-Selch was a hot goth girl on the Coven during Mhach's empire phase.
I guess that means I have to scratch Cessair off my list of meat-puppet suspects. (Unless he based his persona on her that year, lol.)

She sounds like an Azem, if anything.

It is probably just a random coincidence, but I also want to point out that the minion you get from the raid is called 'Nosferatu'.
This is also the name of the Diablos G-Force in FF8's French localization.

This is a weird theory when you remember that Diabolos is a Voidsent, and like all voidsent, they hail from the 13th reflection. There wasn't a Diabolos concept or anything like it, he was created out of nothing many, many years after the sundering.
