Audio distortion with bluetooth headset

Since the launch of 6.0 I have had consistent audio issues and game crashes while using my bluetooth headset. I am running directx11 and windows10

There is a USB dongle connected to my PC that is used to facilitate wireless sound to the headset. When this dongle is connected the sound from XIV is incredibly distorted. Even when master volume is set to 0 in the XIV system settings the headset will crackle and pop loudly.

When the USB dongle is not connected the sound output is completely normal. I have tried repairing the XIV data from the launcher, reinstalling the game, and ensuring my drivers are up to date.
