According to the Mog Store, the #2 best selling item is the Shadowbringers Story Skip

Anyone somewhat concerned by this? Not that I have a problem with people who don't want to go through the story, but it suggests a significant number of new players as of Endwalker are skipping and buying boosts. My main concern is the average player quality is going to start dropping noticeably in instanced content. Maybe other players have already noticed it.

No, I'm not concerned in the slightest. FFXIV is so easy that only takes a few minutes to figure a class out at max level. There is no need to be alarmist here.

A lot of Story Skip Potions go into Alts that have finished the story on their main, so I'm not too concerned.

Yea I know three people who bought the story skip for alts. They all played the msq on their mains.

Yup, I'm one of them. I bought one just before the expansion for one of my roleplay alts.

I'd rather people double back through NG+ if the story hooks them after the fact than they never play.

I buy skips all the time for my alts. No way I'm taking them trhough 4 expansions of story to get them to endgame.

A few of my alts have them, especially as I am on a few datacentres.
I really don't want to go through ARR/Post-ARR again.

There's going to be a rush when the skip first gets released. Anyone who intended to buy a skip would have likely been waiting for the Shadowbringers skip to release instead of the one that only goes up to Stormblood.

Same exact posts came up when the skips first released (for Stormblood, I think? Not certain, but don't think they existed prior to 5.0....). Point is, it'll happen, but it's not really a significant enough impact.
