[Ending Spoilers] Setting of the final, final fight
The final fight with Zenos at the very end of Endwalker was exactly what I was hoping for, and yet there are some things I have questions about still...
Where are we fighting?
During our fight with the Endsinger, we fly on the back of Shinryu off into the depths of the universe, where it's safe to say that we definitely aren't in the weird Dead Ends blue-slime pocket dimension anymore... And afterwards we fly into darkness and get dropped off onto... an endless, shimmering blue plane in the middle of nothingness. The weather is just described as "Ultimatum," but that's about as descriptive as "Climactic," "Termination," or "Tension..."
Are we standing on the outer rim of the Universe? Inside or outside?
Meteion flies off into the depths of space toward the Ragnarok, so it's safe to assume we're nowhere near Ultima Thule anymore...
Up until this point I could reasonably think of where exactly we were... Eden's Promise was fought inside of Eden, Hades was fought in the skies above his recreation of Ethyris, the Cloud of Darkness was fought in a different shard... but with Zenos? We're just on the 'Ultimatum' somewhere in 'God Knows Where.'
Is it just a climax contrivance where the sheer weight of the story conjures up a perfect stage for a clash that will scorch even the stars?
