Machinist nerfed into the grave?

I haven't played it in max level content, but from first glances I saw a huge nerf to drill and at lower level content (such as lvl 60 potd) it looks like it does the DPS of a healer compared to the RPR and SMN I tried in comparison to it.

I've been wondering is it actually this bad at max lvl or does it get better?

I haven't noticed any changes. Everyone got a stat squish and potency changes, but it seems standard to me.

Every job saw a potency reduction.
Drill was 700 potency and is now 550 potency but most jobs saw the same kind of """nerf""" due to the squish.
Heatblast had a 20 potency nerf compared to media tour.

MCH remains quite low DPS wise, especially for a DPS with no support at all.
So you can expect a slight buff in two weeks. Don't expect the Moon.

Every job got a potency "nerf" but... I'm not sure how to phrase this because I don't have the actual info at hand, but like... even though the potency of everything got lowered, the base damage was increased, so it's more or less the same.

Yep, all jobs got potency reduction for the stat squish but Mch certainly got it hard, its currently one of the lowest dps. That being said should start some potency changes for everyone by 6.05 and 6.1 so wouldn't worry too much...

As a casual machinist main who likes to uh... keep track of their damage in an excel spreadsheet, I did notice my dmg output isn't quite what it was compared to other jobs (especially Reapers who are currently DPS kings/queens), but I certainly wouldn't call it 'Nerfed into an early grave'. I still contribute my fair share of damage in group content and I can assure you no healer comes even close to my DPS output on bosses. In other words: I don't really detrimental to the group's overall success or clear speed by playing machinist, though I expect some slight damage buffs in coming patches to put us more in line with other non-utility jobs.

Dnc worse I think healers do more dmg than dnc does anymore. Use to almost one hit lvl 80 enemies with step dance now I only take about half the hp.
