The Moon triggered my Promyvion PTSD.
Not to mention the wholething, even though it's a totally different concept from FFXI with the same name.Dynamis
Mmm... No. A remix of Imperial Will does not sound like Faded Memories at all. Not an evolution from FFXI music.
As for the actual FFXI references, yes. Great stuff. I know what you mean by the orange bloom of energy on the moon being reminiscent of the dimensional rift light leading to Al'taieu.
The Empty on the moon being evolved fungi was rather strange, but a common trope from Lovecraftian horror, so I suppose I get another marriage of fictions that I didn't know I needed.
Dynamis felt like an in-joke about wiping a lot. Die-namis, heh.
Vrtra, in name. Though I also sorta saw the skeletal facial features as a nod to XI Vrtra's command over the undead.
The Omicron race having Archaic Gears, Detectors from Sky, and the lower bodies/frames of the Caturae was like a little cherry on top.
I appreciated the teleporter with a similar animation to the Sky teleporter.
anyone else get Sky feels with elpis? :3
If it'd just had a transparent walk way with the energy hexagons trailing behind our feet with that tender sound effect it would have been everything.
Old Sharlayan Night music feels so familiar to FFXI, but I can't place it.
