Afking

I noticed that people seem to be using the new game mode+ then afking in a cut scene in The Ala Mhigan Quarter, even level 90's.

Maybe disable it or at least put a timer on the npc chat steps.

LOL I was thinking that. I had no clue people did that. Now, if I have to use the little kittens room I afk cutscenes too. Why should a bio break mean instant logout and a 6 hr requeue? Yes my server does that long of a queue most weekends.

There are Endwalker quests in Ala Mhigo, for the record. And they have a couple pretty long cutscenes. lol Perhaps you are assuming one thing when another thing entirely is happening.

I wonder if we'll ever get to a point where we can keep the same and similar topics all into just one megathread..

That's my thought. I recall the cutscene before the first 'complete' zone in EW occuring in the Ala Mhigan quarter and having a 'set aside sufficient time' warning beforehand.

Well if people didn't flood the forums with troll threads and topics only existing to start conflict, the 'one megathread' wouldn't get shoved down out of everyone's view.

As far as I know only the end game cut scenes that are longer than 30 minutes even if you click through things in a normal speed or have auto progress on are protected from the 30 minute AFK kick.

There had been reports of players doing the long ARR (and other expansions except Endwalker) end cut scene being kicked because it wasn't protected from the AFK timer.

So that Ala Mhigo one would likely not be protected.

Sounds like the OP hasn't finished the EW story.

Yep, even the EW healer role quests in Ala Mhigo are long.
