[SPOILERS] That One Dream Scene

I haven't found any discussion on this scene yet.

At one point during the Endwalker MSQ we spend the night in the Annex, and there is a dream where we seem to be underwater (air bubbles are showing up when we supposedly speak), and we're talking to some guy who is saying all kinds of cryptic things. I don't know if it's supposed to be obvious what this scene represents, but I didn't really get who this character is that we are speaking to. I thought maybe Azem. I am curious to hear your thoughts on this part!

maybe itll tie into pandaemonium.

Azem wouldn't work, because their gender is character-dependent, and that voice is male.

I actually just assumed it was Hythlodaeus and left it there. It's clearly something around the aetherial sea, and it sounds close enough to him.

I was under the impression it was just us eavesdropping on Emet Selch welcoming Hythlodaeus to the aetherial sea

which was foreshadowing us later summoning them using Azem's crystal.

With Emet-Selch narrating our journey during the MSQ it seems that his soul decided to piggyback ride us instead of going to the aetherial sea. So that cutscene was our boy Hythlodaeus talking to him as he decides to join in on the fun ride
